The NED-DECK MARINE roller track gravity davits have been designed for long time operation under adverse and extreme circumstances in a highly corrosive marine environment.
Dependent on the available deck space this type of davit can be applied for almost every deck situation and can be tailored to suit any kind of lifeboat, rescue boat or tender-lifeboat.

The GRT roller track gravity davit is a deck to wall mounted davit consisting of two davit arms, each supported by a track-way, and a separate winch.
The design of the GRT roller track gravity davit allows a free passage underneath the lifeboats. Moreover its design requires a minimum of stiffeners to the ship’s construction.

The system is suitable for safe and efficient launching of a fully manned lifeboat against unfavourable conditions of trim of up to 10 degrees and a list of up to 20 degrees either way.

The GRT roller track gravity davit has been designed especially for boarding and launching the lifeboat from an embarkation deck (outboard embarkation).
In case the lifeboat does also serve as a rescue boat, the lifeboat can also be boarded and launched directly from its stowed position with the number of persons assigned to crew the rescue boat.

Launching of the fully manned lifeboat from its embarkation position to the water level is realised by means of gravity.
The launching procedure can be controlled in two ways, either by means of a remote control wire from within the lifeboat or by lifting the brake handle of the winch directly.
Recovery of the lifeboat with its launching crew is realised by using the electric driven winch.
In case of a power failure or malfunctioning of the electric system, hoisting can also be done manually by using the crank handle of the winch.

In order to reduce maintenance to a minimum, all shafts and pins are made of stainless steel and provided with self-lubricated bushings.

The GRT series meets the latest IMO/SOLAS requirements and LSA Code as well as the European Council Directive 96/98 EC on Marine Equipment (M.E.D.).
