A Ned-Deck Marine system is built to last. This can also be found in our high IP ratings on the different components of our davits, cranes and other equipment - preventing ingress damage (e.g. corrosion), hazardous situations (e.g. electrical contact) and failure caused by impact.

Three digit IP Value
The full international version has three digits after the IP rather than two, e.g. "IP653".   Each digit represents the degree of protection against one of the environmental factors.  The first is for solid particle ingress, the second is for liquids ingress, and the third is impact resistance.  The meanings of the numbers are given in the following table.

The larger the value of each digit, the greater the protection from that influence. As an example, a NDM control box as IP683 would be better protected against environmental factors than another similar product that was only rated as IP432.

1 Protected against solid objects over 50mm e.g. hands, large tools. Protected against vertically falling drops of water. Protected against 0.225 joule impact (150g @ 15cm).
